poise through adversity
When my father died, my mother did not shut herself away from the world. She retained her poise, attention to detail, and sense of self-worth despite losing the most important person in the world to her. Her beauty, while always apparant to those around her, has been tempered through grief and now reflects her inner resiliency and her unyielding hope for the future. She makes me realize that nothing in this world is certain and that you must treat yourself and others well.
